Assam, December 16: Industry and transport minister of Assam Chandra Mohan Patowary has asked the Deputy Commissioners of every district of the state to identify and promote one product that has export potential through the ‘One District One Product Programme’. A virtual conference was chaired by Patowary with all Deputy Commissioners, General Managers of DICCs, District Transport Officers, Principals of ITIs, Assistant Directors of Employment and Craftsmen Training on 15th December regarding issues pertaining to Industries & Commerce, Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship and Transport departments. The Deputy Commissioners were also asked to provide incentives to the local entrepreneurs of the micro food processing units. He stated that as the Government has been working hard to improve the ecosystem, by enhancing economic growth, facilitating entrepreneurship, and improving the sources of livelihood, the service delivery should also improve. The Assam transport minister guided the District Transport Officers to enhance revenue collection in order to meet with the loss following COVID-19 related lockdown.
