Meghalaya’s first lady Deputy Commissioner Margaret Rose Mawlong passes away

Meghalaya, December 24: Meghalaya’s first lady deputy commissioner Margaret Rose Mawlong passed away on Wednesday in Shillong. She was 82. Mawlong appeared in the Assam Civil Service exams in 1967, and stood second in the merit list and first among the tribal candidates. Mawlong had held various positions in the Government of Meghalaya and different social organizations. She was the first lady in then Assam to qualify for the state civil service exam.
