Assam, February 3: Education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, in an early morning press conference on 3rd February, announced the provincialization of educational institutions across the state that is to be ceremoniously held on 5th February. In this second phase of provincializations, 9895 teachers under the Director of Elementary Education will be benefited. The provincialization will come into effect from 1st January.

1698 LP or primary schools will provincialized benefiting 3309 teachers.

Another 6586 teachers of ME or upper primary schools will be benefited due to provincialization of 2107 schools. 266 high schools will be provincialized affecting 2269 teaching and non-teaching staff.

4 higher secondary schools will also be provincialised benefiting 31 teachers.

4996 additional staff under the Secondary Education will also be benefited who have been working in additionally created posts in the earlier provincialized schools,” informed the educational minister.

33 colleges will also be provincialized under the Director of Higher Education. 693 teachers and non-teaching staff will receive the benefits.

900 teaching staff will get provincialized in the earlier provincialized colleges as they have newly attained the professional qualifications.
