Guwahati, February 3: The Assam State Commission for Women has asked Assam police to probe into alleged sexually explicit remarks made by singer Zubeen Garg on actor Nishita Goswami.

Amid heavy criticism for Zubeen’s offensive remarks violating a woman’s dignity and also ‘insulting’ a member of the LGBTQ community at the same event, several activists have demanded an apology from the singer.

The singer made the remarks during Prag Cine Award Show 2021 on Saturday in which, which drew massive controversy on social media.

LGBTQ rights activist Milin Dutta, who was allegedly misbehaved by Zubeen on stage, said that he was not allowed to speak a single line by the singer.
