Assam Legislative Assembly winter session brings in a wave of protests

Assam, December 31: The beginning of the winter session of the Assam Legislative Assembly has brought with it a fresh wave of protesters from across the state, hoping that the decision-makers will pay heed to their demands. On Tuesday, people from different groups and organisations gathered in front of the Assam Secretariat stating their issues and demands from the government. Around seven to eight groups like the Sadou Asom Asha Karmi Sanstha (ASHA), United Manipuri Association Assam (UMAA), Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), All Assam Special Police Officer Welfare Association (AASPOWA) and others from the state gathered in front of the Secretariat to protest.
