Ex-Kerala minister KK Ramachandran passes away
Kerala, January 7: Former minister and Congress leader KK Ramachandran passed away at a private hospital here following a heart attack in the wee hours of Thursday. He was 84. Ramachandran had represented Sulthan Bathery and Kalpetta assembly constituencies in Wayanad six times and had served as food and civil supplies minister in the AK Antony government in 1995-96 and as health minister in the Oommen Chandy government in 2004. He was hospitalised on Wednesday and breathed his last at 3.30am. Ramachandran was elected to the assembly from Sulthan Bathery constituency in three elections held in 1980, 1982 and 1987 and from the Kalpettta constituency for three terms in 1991, 1996 and 2001.
