Ashes of former Assam CM Tarun Gogoi immersed in river Brahmaputra at Dhubri
Assam, January 11: The ashes of former three-time Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi were immersed into river Brahmaputra at the historical Netai Dhubuni Ghat in Dhubri by his son, Gaurav Gogoi. The statewide programme to immerse the ashes of former chief minister Tarun Gogoi in the rivers of every district of the state ended on Sunday. On the last day of the statewide programme, the former chief minister’s son, Kaliabor MP, Gaurav Gogoi performed the rituals at Netai Dhubuni Ghat, Dhubri in the presence of a large gathering including Congress MLAs Rakibul Hussain and Wazed Ali Choudhury. Speaking on the occasion, parliamentarian Gaurav Gogai urged the members of Congress and the common peoples to follow the footsteps of Tarun Gogoi, who dedicated his whole life for the well-being of the state’s people. The local leaders from other political parties also paid floral tributes to the former Assam Chief Minister.
