Chandra Mohan Patowary inaugurates Safety Driving Education Centre
Guwahati , February 8 :
Transport Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary inagurated a Safety Driving Education Centre (SDEC) at District Transport Office, Kamrup(M) Betkuchi on Saturday.
The SDEC has been inagurated during the ongoing Road Safety Month from January 18 to February 17 2021.
Keeping in view the importance of educating new riders and drivers on road safety before they get their learner license this centre was established.
The programme was started by the welcome speech of Commissioner of Transport Adil Khan.
Addressing to the media, Minister Patowary said ” If the drivers maintain the norms of Panchasutra then the number of road accident will decrease at Assam.
“At any cost we have to decrease the road accident in Assam” Patowary added.
Appreciating the efforts of Honda for partnering in this initiative to raise road safety awareness, Patowary stated, “All Transport Companies should contribute their CSR fund and coordinate with respected DTOs to conduct awareness drives on road safety guidelines among the general public ”
Officers present in the programme includes Secretary to Transport department Pabitra Ram Khaund, Deputy Secretary Ankur Bharali and others.
Employees of Honda company was also present at the program.
On the other hand DTO Gautam Das thanks the students of different educational institution and others who attended the programme.
