ASTC Donates Bharat Benz Bus For Assam’s Cancer Patients In Mumbai
Assam , December10: The Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) has donated a fully air-conditioned Bharat Benz bus for transporting cancer patients from Assam Bhawan in Mumbai to Tata Memorial Hospital and other cancer treatment centres in Mumbai. The move comes in the wake of the announcement made by Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Transport Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary during the flagging off programme of 20 Bharat Benz buses in Guwahati on November 6. The ASTC bus service was inaugurated today by Ashok Kumar Bhattarai, chairman of ASTC in the presence of the members of the Assam Association, led by its president Jyotirmoy Das, cancer patients undergoing treatment along with the officers and staff of Assam Bhawan, Mumbai. The bus service will be free of cost and it will be maintained and sponsored by Deepsikha Foundation.
