Congress promises job for each family, free electricity up to 120 units if voted to power

Assam, January 2: The Congress on Friday in Assam is making promises to lure the voters. The party has announced many benefits like waiver of farm debts and microfinance loans for women, implementation of minimum income guarantee scheme ‘Nyay’, free electricity upto 120 units for the poor and middle class and ensure at least one job for each family. On the first day of the New Year, Assam Congress president Ripun Bora on Friday promised one job in each family and free electricity up to 120 units if Congress is voted to power in 2021 Assembly polls. Ripun Bora said, “If Congress comes to power in Assam, there will be an employee in a house. In a family where there is no one, who is engaged either in government or private services, will have a job.” He further added “Under the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY), the BPL and middle-class families will be provided free electricity up to 120 units which will benefit 58 lakh families in Assam.”
