Guwahati restaurants might get closed for two days

Guwahati, January 7: The restaurants across Guwahati might get closed for two days. This comes after violent cases of conflicts between the hotel and the customer have emerged in the city. A group of boys beat up the chef for serving food late at Hotel Palacio in the city. Dispur Police is trying to locate the accused who is now absconding. All Assam Hospitality Workers’ Association (AAHWA) has threatened to keep therestaurants closed for two days if the culprit is not arrested. As reported, on the night of December 30, 2020, six men, who were unstable and drunken, had entered the mentioned hotel and ordered for a roll from the menu. Due to a slight delay in serving the item to the customers, they started arguing. When the six of them were asked to leave the kitchen as outsiders were not allowed in the pantry premises, they started violently beating up the chef.
