Assam CM Sonowal attended the inauguration ceremony of Northeast Festival 2020

Assam December 20 :
Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal attended the inauguration ceremony of Northeast Festival 2020 in Guwahati on Saturday.  During the inauguration ceremony Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh and Minister of Development of North Eastern Region Jitendra Singh were also present. .

CM Sonowal lauded the organisers for promoting the vibrant culture of the northeastern region across the globe. The chief minister in his inaugural speech highlighted the beauty of the North eastern region. He praised Shyamkanu Mahanta, the founder of North East Festival by mentioning his contribution in promoting the North eastern region. The festival, he said, “is a platform to promote the North East by showcasing its natural beauty”. He also added it is a very charming festival since many years which attracts both national and international tourists. This festival according to him, has immensely made a name for itself in the years under the initiative of Shyamkanu Mahanta and his team. He believes that the North East will grow in the coming years under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi
