Gauhati High Court rejects Akhil Gogoi’s bail plea

Guwahati, January 7: Akhil Gogoi will continue to remain inside the jail and will not be released as of now. Justice Kalyan Roy and Ajit Borthakur gave the verdict on Gogoi’s case today, January 7. Gogoi has now spent more than a year inside the jail. The leader of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) has been in jail since Dec, 2019 for role in anti-CAA protests. The case registered against Gogoi was under the “Unlawful Activities Prevention Act”, section 18 and 39.
