Impact of Bharat Bandh seen in Guwahati
Guwahati, Dec 8: The Bharat Bandh had a clear impact on the normal Guwahati life. The Bandh was called by the Farmers Association protesting the three farm laws passed by the Centre. The Bandh was called from 11 am to 3 pm. The streets wore a deserted look as commercial vehicles are exempted. Only private vehicles were seen plying on the road. Shops and establishments were seen closed. In Assam, as many as 13 opposition parties including Congress, AJP and Left parties have extended support to the nationwide strike.Police patrolling across Assam has been increased to ensure the shutdown remains peaceful.As reported by ANI, police also detained a few people who were protesting in front of Janata Bhawan, Guwahati in support of the Bharat Bandh.
