Guwahati all set to have seven more foot bridges

Guwahati, February 2:

Guwahati will get 7 more foot overbridges by March this year, said Assam health, finance and education minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday. “By March, we will be able to inaugurate seven more foot overbridges for the people. In February, two more foot overbridges will be inaugurated,” Sarma said after inaugurating two automated, divyang friendly foot over bridges on G.S Road in Guwahati—one near Mizoram House at Christianbasti and another near Mahendra House at Walford, Ganeshguri.
These two bridges have been constructed six months prior to the estimated time. Equipped with escalators, lifts, these foot over bridges have been constructed with Switzerland technology. The bridges will be under 24 hours CCTV surveillance. The overbridge near Mizoram House has been completed at a sanctioned cost of Rs. 10,06,71,000.
